Independent state-specific mathematics practice
Massachusetts MCAS Math Practice and Test Information
The Massachusetts Comprehensive Assessment System (MCAS) measures how well students are meeting the Massachusetts curriculum frameworks. TestByState supports the mathematics assessment in Grades 3–8 and Grade 10.
Who takes MCAS Math?
Massachusetts public-school students take grade-level MCAS Mathematics in Grades 3–8. Grade 10 students take the high-school mathematics assessment used for the competency determination under current state policy.
2026–27 testing schedule
The 2027 Grades 3–8 Mathematics window is April 26–May 21. Grade 10 Mathematics has recommended session dates of May 18 and May 19 within a May 18–26 administration window.
Test structure and practice
The official mathematics test uses two sessions. The exact item mix and test-day directions come from DESE's current test design. TestByState Full Tests preserve the useful two-session practice rhythm and grade-level blueprint coverage without claiming to reproduce every operational item or scoring feature.
TestByState questions are original. Full Tests are fixed practice approximations based on public standards and test-design materials; practice percentages are not official MCAS scaled scores.
