North Carolina EOG Math and NC Check-Ins Practice
North Carolina End-of-Grade Mathematics measures the 2017 North Carolina Standard Course of Study in Grades 3–8. NC Check-Ins 2.0 provide separate optional, formative opportunities during the year.
Who takes NC EOG Math?
North Carolina public-school students take EOG Mathematics in Grades 3–8. Districts and schools may also use NC Check-Ins 2.0 as formative resources during the school year.
2026–27 testing schedule
EOG Mathematics is administered during the final ten instructional days. NC Check-Ins use a flexible local window; families should confirm exact dates with their school.
Test structure and practice
The official EOG is multistage adaptive. It contains 40 operational items in Grades 3–5 and 45 in Grades 6–8, divided between calculator-inactive and calculator-active content. Official Check-Ins contain 25 items from published eligible-standard groups.
TestByState uses original fixed forms. EOG practice follows published operational counts and domain ranges but does not reproduce adaptive routing. Check-In practice preserves official eligible groupings while using product-designed standard distributions.
