Ohio State Tests Math Practice and OST Guide

Ohio's State Tests in Mathematics assess Ohio's Learning Standards in Grades 3–8. Current grade specifications publish detailed standards, reporting categories, tools, and item interaction evidence.

Who takes Ohio OST Math?

Ohio public-school students take the grade-level Mathematics OST in Grades 3–8. Districts select local testing days inside the statewide spring window.

2026–27 testing schedule

The spring 2027 mathematics window is April 5–May 14. Each district selects 15 consecutive school days within the state window.

Test structure and practice

Official blueprints publish reporting-category ranges in points of opportunity rather than one fixed public item total. Test specifications include selected response, numeric/equation entry, and technology-enhanced interactions.

TestByState uses original 40-question Grades 3–5 and 42-question Grades 6–8 fixed forms as transparent product approximations. It does not claim an exact operational item count or simulate grid-drawing and simulation interactions.
