South Carolina SC READY Math Practice and Guide

South Carolina College- and Career-Ready Assessments (SC READY) Mathematics measures the current 2025 South Carolina mathematics standards in Grades 3–8. The state introduced a new vertical mathematics scale for 2026–27.

Who takes SC READY Math?

South Carolina public-school students in Grades 3–8 take SC READY Mathematics. The general administration is online, with paper testing available only under applicable policies.

2026–27 testing schedule

Online SC READY testing occurs during the final 20 school days of each district's instructional calendar. The district selects its own window, so there is no single statewide calendar date for every family.

Test structure and practice

Official Grades 3–8 blueprints specify 50 operational Mathematics items. Grades 3–5 use one test ticket; Grades 6–8 use a non-calculator section followed by a calculator section. Published times are scheduling estimates, not hard time limits.

TestByState uses 50 original practice questions and excludes field-test items. The Grade 6–8 25/25 section split is a transparent product approximation because the public blueprint does not publish an exact operational split. Vendor-specific gestures use supported semantic interactions.
