Independent state-specific mathematics information

How SC READY Math structure changes by grade

A parent guide to the 50-item blueprint, one-ticket and two-section formats, calculator rules, district timing, and original practice limits.

The blueprint specifies 50 operational items

TestByState practices the operational count and does not add unscored field-test items to make the form look longer.

Grades 3–5 use one test ticket

Current state guidance lists one Mathematics test ticket and an estimated 105 minutes for scheduling. The assessment is not described as hard timed.

Grades 6–8 move from non-calculator to calculator

Students complete a non-calculator section before a calculator section. The exact operational split is not public, so TestByState labels its equal split as product designed.

The 2025 standards define the current content

The current blueprints and scale align to South Carolina's 2025 Mathematics Standards. Results on the new scale should not be compared directly with the prior mathematics scale.

The district determines the final 20-day window

Online administration occurs in the final 20 school days of the district calendar. Families need the school's date rather than a single statewide day.
