Independent state-specific mathematics information
What FAST Math PM1, PM2, and PM3 mean
Florida gives FAST Mathematics three times per year. This guide separates the progress-monitoring periods, current windows, and what a fixed TestByState practice form can honestly represent.
Three administrations, one grade-level blueprint
FAST Mathematics is administered during PM1, PM2, and PM3. Current Florida guidance says all three cover the full grade-level blueprint, while timing in the school year affects how results are interpreted.
PM1 and PM2 provide progress information
PM1 occurs near the beginning of the year and PM2 near the middle. They provide progress-monitoring information before the summative PM3 administration; they are not separate subject standards.
PM3 is the summative administration
PM3 occurs near the end of the year and is the summative FAST administration used in accountability. For 2026–27, the statewide PM3 window is May 3–28, with local dates selected inside that window.
Official FAST is computer-adaptive
Operational FAST Mathematics selects questions adaptively. TestByState PM3-style Full Practice is an original fixed form that follows published reporting-category ranges but does not reproduce Florida's adaptive algorithm.
Calculator and reference policies depend on grade
Grades 3–5 are modeled without calculators, while Grades 6–8 use the calculator type allowed by current Florida policy. Reference sheets are grade-specific and remain separate from calculator permission.
How to use practice across the year
Daily Practice can keep sessions short, Topic Practice can focus a reporting category, and PM3-style Full Practice can provide a longer fixed form when the learner is ready. Practice percentages are not official FAST scale scores.
